Lake Lucerne

Several weekends ago a few of us decided to go on a day trip to Lake Lucerne (Luzern). David had been before, but the rest of us had not and it was supposed to be a beautiful day. It took about 3 hours to get there because of traffic and it wasn't quite as sunny as the news had said it was going to be, but the scenery was still beautiful. Lake Lucerne lies at the intersection of four of Switzerland's cantons (or states). We actually didn't even get a good picture of the lake from where we were but it was listed in our book Places to See In Your Lifetime as one of the places to visit so it was nice to experience it and mark it off our list. Lucerne is in the German speaking part of Switzerland while we live in the French. The city was full of Swiss charm and a lot of great shopping! The pictures don't do it justice. For some reason, my pictures are coming out darker than what it actually was outside. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem with my camera?
Sorry about the spacing of the pictures but every time I try to fix it it deletes my photos.
